In order to display our projects we could have a few varieties for VR(ie. Vive, Oculus Rift, Google Cardboard) and have the games switching back and forth for people to test and play. There could also be a large monitor set up that is connected to the Vive or Oculus displaying what someone is playing. We could display pictures and screengrabs as well as small blurbs on a tri-fold board to explain the process. There could be an extra booth displaying more in depth on each job and the process. I am not sure how we could communicate the bigger picture, I would like to talk about that with my peers.
It's important to learn how to learn. With the VR project we had to learn how to become a 3D modeler or a programmer or something like that and then we had to create a product for someone's game. You are always learning especially when you gain a new skill so, for example, if I were a 3D modeler I may have learned how to do something one way though tutorials, but as I gain experience building things I become better at it and my product gets better. More money = worse product. If you have a lower incentive with the knowledge that there is a higher one, you will work harder for the higher prize. If you know that you're going to get the highest incentive, you work put as much effort into it. Just like Lizzy described it in class, with a project that you are invested in you will put a lot of effort into it. If you don't like the project and you aren't motivated properly, you wont work hard for the grade.

We no longer have to purchase any 3D models since Dr. Don and Ali hired some of the 3D modelers that were doing professional development. Now we have several people working on our models and they should be done quickly.
In the very beginning of this project I was worried that I would not be able to find enough work. I started working on becoming park of the video production crew, but luckily for me Ali hired me full time to assist her throughout the project. I also have a small side job with Angelina that I've done a few times. I didn't have any idea what hashtag activism was before we started reading about it. Now that I know more I believe that it is mostly a good thing. Using it on media like twitter is a good way to keep updated on a protest or something like that as it happens. It draws awareness to an issue and people can take action. If we can't do something from where we are, it comes to the attention of someone that can do something. However some people can just retweet #blacklivesmatter and think "yeah that's enough" and go on with their lives thinking that they contributed to something. I liked the first article better, it seemed more relatable to me, Most of my job so far has been co-producing with Ali Bell. I was only able :K, to act in one other game because of my responsibilities with Ali. I am working pretty much full time with Ali so I should get a fat paycheck to pass with an A.
It’s hard to tell when you’re getting the 100% truth out of a news source, there are many ways for the information to get muddled. I don’t particularly watch the news or read the paper for the daily, but when I hear something that interests me I look up online and learn more about it. I've been working on find 3D models that we can base our own off of. We've had some problems trying to figure out exactly how we're going to put everything together. We want to take a 360 picture in a pool for the base of our game, we we need to learn how to stitch the 3D models onto the picture and make sure everything comes together.
When I'm trying to work in a distracting place, I'll usually pull out my earbuds and play music loudly so I can't hear what's going on around me. I'll distance myself from my friends so they wont distract me either. Usually people who have power have a large following that hang on to every word. They need to be conscious of what they say because what they dictate with lead everyone to do that.I believe that they need to be truthful and say what they mean for everyone to understand what they want. For me the most disturbing part of the singularity reading was about the cars. They say that in the near future our children won't ever get their driver's license because there won't be a need for cars anymore, they won't be a necessity. I don't even have my license now, and the thought of never getting one is strange.
To get our jobs we had to do an interview just like in real life. Since I have real experience with interviews I know how to act professional and to answer the questions without stuttering over my words or using filler words. Some of the producers I interviewed with had questions in mind, but many of them didn't. I think that the questions were a good way to determine whether people knew what they were doing and all of the producers should have had them. I did still have a few problems with the questions, but that's because I knew what I wanted to say but couldn't verbalize it. I think advertising does shape our society, especially children. In our reading last night they talk about how children recognize Camel cigarettes, I noted that I also recognized that logo for many years before I really knew what they were. I'm still not sure how I feel about regulations and restrictions, I guess there should be, but I don't know where I would start with them. In the engineering portion I am part of the acting guild, unfortunately the actors will only be used in the beginning of the project. I am also starting to learn 3D modeling so I will still have something to do when the acting is finished. This week we have been going through some acting exercises to practice and prepare for when we are needed. I have been looking at a few tutorials for 3D modeling, but I haven't really delved into it yet. I really want to work on 3D modeling more next week, so I am looking forward to that.
For English we've been learning about propaganda and the way it affects the public. While we were reading about it I realized how easily people can be persuaded to believe something is true just by who endorses it. Usually I believe that I'm not one to fall for something like that, being able to see through most of the b.s, Now I wonder if I have been falling for the less obvious traps that are most pieces of propaganda. |
