The Dance Dance Re-Volt-Ution Project
For the Dance Dance Re-Volt-ution Project I worked with Mandalyn, Diana, and Connor to make dance pads with out own circuits using a wires, AA batteries, and light bulb. First we had to plan how we were going to make our dance pads and put a circuit together underneath it so it would light up or make noises. Once we collected all of our materials that would make the dance pads we started to construct it. The materials we used were duct tape, aluminum foil and cardboard. We made prototypes of shoes that the dancer would wear to make the dance pad work. Once we were almost finished with making our dance pad, Mandalyn and Diana started choreographing the dance routine. The song we chose was Classic by MKTO, and the dance could be no longer than 30 seconds. To make sure all of our circuits worked we had to use all four dance pads in our dance routine. In the end we decorated the dance pads. We put paw prints in each corner of the cardboard because our team was called The Snow Pandas. We were paired up with a teacher, Mike Handforth, to compete in our team competition. It was fun being able to work with my group to try different styles for our dance pan and being able to get to know them better. Overall the project was amazing. I like how much work everyone put into working on their part.
Our group did not win, but I think our dancer, Mike Handforth, did a great job.
